How to use the UKMFG PR Diary

  • Prepare your story in advance so you can pitch and provide timely comments to the press and wider media, such as your predictions, expectations, and even your hopes ahead of big announcements, or an end-of-year review or predictions for the future 
  • Pitch your spokespeople for interviews and reaction – building thought leadership
  • Provide commentary and piggyback on trends or figures – prepare in advance and send out timely reaction. The media regularly cover stories related to energy prices, the Industrial Strategy, Spending Review, interest rates, inflation, labour market trends and skills, investment, use statistics to report on issues such as skills and the workforce 
  • Piggyback on survey results to position your business in a positive light
  • Put your business forward as a case study to be interviewed during or ahead of big releases or announcements
  • Plan your social media – join in conversations, celebrate and champion initiatives and build relationships and understanding on LinkedIn
  • Events and visits – plan your own and/or take part in events such as National Manufacturing Day to raise the profile of your business and attract talent into the industry, secure speaking opportunities, and network with your future customers and change perceptions of the manufacturing industry 
  • Awards – boost your credibility, reputation, and boost staff morale with a stronger profile
